🚨 Important Alert: Parvovirus Outbreak in Our Area 🚨
Canine parvovirus (parvo) cases have recently increased in our community. Parvo is a highly contagious and potentially deadly virus that affects unvaccinated dogs, especially puppies and young dogs. It spreads easily through contaminated surfaces, soil, and even on shoes or clothing—meaning your dog doesn’t need to come in direct contact with another dog to be exposed.
What is Parvo? Parvovirus attacks the intestinal tract and immune system, causing severe vomiting, diarrhea (often with blood), loss of appetite, dehydration, and lethargy. Without prompt treatment, parvo can be fatal—especially in puppies.
How to Protect Your Dog:Vaccinate! The parvo vaccine is extremely effective when given in the full puppy series and followed by yearly boosters. Avoid public areas (dog parks, sidewalks, pet stores, or boarding facilities) until your puppy has completed their full vaccine series. Keep your dog away from unknown or unvaccinated dogs. Clean paws and shoes after walking in public areas to reduce risk of bringing the virus home.
We are offering parvo vaccinations and booster appointments to help protect your pets and prevent further spread in our community. If your dog is due for a vaccine—or you’re unsure of their vaccine status—please call or text us right away to schedule an appointment.
I have always enjoyed animals whether it was working with them or enjoying their company at home. Animals have been my passion since working with Beverly starting 10 years ago. I also know how to groom animals which I did in the past. Nancy and I are the parents of a beautiful daughter named Chelsea.
